Tiny Scrapbook Tins, Friday 12/11
Description: Miniatures are all the rage right now! So why should your scrapbook be any different?
We invite you to join us in personalizing a tiny scrapbook with photos, stickers, and nostalgic ephemera before securing the book to the top of the metal tin. Then, utilizing both 2D and small 3D materials, we will decorate the bottom of the tin, adding another personalized component.
The combination of these two elements will result in a uniquely sentimental, pocket-sized tin that can evolve with you or hold a special memory that needs no change at all.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their own nostalgic ephemera; it is what makes the tins tailored to you. This would also make a great holiday gift.
Photo printers and standard collage supplies will be provided.
Snacks and sparkling water will be available. This class is also BYOB. Feel free to bring your favorite beverage to enjoy while crafting. We have glasses available, no need to bring disposables.
When: Friday, 12/11, 6:30-8:30pm
Skills taught: You’ll learn the basic elements of collage, junk journaling, and scrapbooking, and how to create visually pleasing compositions.
Skills needed: No previous experience needed! Just a desire to create in community and learn something new.
Supplies used: All will be provided and include small metal tins, polaroid printer and film, craft paper, small notebooks, and collage material. Please feel free to bring your own personal ephemera.
What you’ll leave with: Attendees will leave with a decorated metal tin that holds a nostalgic, sentimental memory. Inside the tin will be a scrapbook on the top lid and 2D/3D elements on the bottom lid. It makes a wonderful keepsake that also doubles as a thoughtful gift.

McCoy's professional and academic endeavors have been supported by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and the Samuel H. Kress Foundation; he has held positions at the Philadelphia Art Museum and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.
