Painted Glass Jar Workshop, Sunday, 9/6
Description: Do you clean and store your food jars, just knowing you’ll find the perfect use for them later? And then find yourself with an overwhelming collection of jars. We do, too. But we think we’ve found the perfect re-use!
Join us for an afternoon of painting jars of various sizes and shapes. We’ll use acrylic paint to decorate 2-4 of the jars provided. If you have some glassware or jars you’ve been saving to do something with, feel free to bring them!
Please note that all glassware will need to be cured and covered with dishwasher safe mod podge. You’ll leave your items at the studio, and they will be available for pick up the following week. NOTE: While they claim the mod podge to be dishwasher safe, we do not recommend you put your painted jars in the dishwasher! Nor should you soak them. Gently wash with soap and water and they should last for years.
This event is BYOB. Feel free to bring your favorite beverage to enjoy while crafting. We have glasses available, no need to bring disposables.
When: Sunday, 9/6, 1-3pm
Skills taught: You’ll learn the technique of painting glass with acrylic pens and we’ll review how you can cure the glasses at home should you want to continue your painted jar journey.
Skills needed: None! Just a desire to create in community and have a fun afternoon.
Supplies used: All supplies will be provided by CraftNation and will include acrylic pens and a wide assortment of jars.
What you’ll leave with: Each student will leave with 2-4 jars that they’ve painted. You will note leave the workshop with these jars, they will be ready for pick up starting Sunday, 9/13
Meet your teacher: Gabrielle has over 30 years of crafting under her belt, and a love of community in her heart. She built CraftNation to be exactly the kind of place she always wished existed. Walk in, grab some supplies, and create. No class required, no experience needed, no pressure whatsoever. Or sign up for a class and learn something completely new. However you show up, the point is the same: make something with your hands and find your people while you're at it.
All workshops at CraftNation are offered at a sliding scale. For guidance on which price you should pay, please see our Sliding Scale page.
