Description: Join us for a casual lecture, pizza lunch, and mixed media collage session!
The Philadelphia Ten were a group of women painters and sculptors who disrupted the art world by working and exhibiting together, as they were one of the first all female groups to do so. Their work encompassed both painting and sculpture.
While we enjoy a pizza lunch, our teacher Amy will give a short lecture on the Philadelphia Ten. We’ll cover their artwork and their impact on the art world. Afterwards, we will work on mixed media collages of the Philadelphia skyline.
This event is BYOB. Feel free to bring your favorite beverage to enjoy while crafting. We have glasses available, no need to bring disposables.
When: Sunday, 11/15, 1-4pm
Skills needed: None! All you need is the desire to create in community and to have a fun evening.
What you’ll leave with: You will leave with a deeper understanding of The Philadelphia Ten and a finished, mixed media, collage of the Philly skyline.
Meet your teacher: Amy Kelly is a Philadelphia based mixed media artist. Amy has a BFA in Drawing and has been teaching since 2013. Crocheting, bookbinding, and watercolor are her specialties. She currently makes commission paintings for clients, teachers art workshops, and makes mixed media artworks based on religious and cultural symbolism.
All workshops at CraftNation are offered at a sliding scale. For guidance on which price you should pay, please see our Sliding Scale page.
