Cross Stitch: Snowflake Ornament, Thursday 12/3

from $35.00

Description: Give yourself the gift of a new hobby AND add a little handmade flair to your season. Learn how to stitch a whimsical little snowflake that you can display or gift. A variety of colors will be available so you can stick to the classics or add your own spin!

All skill levels are welcome. Cross stitch is a great entry point to using a needle and thread. It’s also a super portable option that will keep your hands busy during holiday travel or keep you company while you’re cozy on the couch.

Snacks and sparkling water will be available. This class is also BYOB. Feel free to bring your favorite beverage to enjoy while crafting. We have glasses available, no need to bring disposables.

When: Thursday, 12/3, 6-9pm

Skills taught: You will learn how to read a cross stitch pattern, loop start method (no knots!), how to center your design on fabric, cross stitch and backstitch, and how to finish your project.

Skills needed: No previous experience needed! Just an open mind and a desire to create in community and learn something new.

Supplies used: All will be provided and will include a hoop, floss, needles, and pattern.

What you’ll leave with: All students will leave with a finished snowflake ornament or the skills and materials needed to finish at home.

Meet your teacher: Alexis Kumasaka is a life long crafter and tinkerer. These days she is most often found bent over a sewing machine, but cross stitch was one of her very first fiber hobbies as a small child and it holds a special place in her heart. It is a great way to keep anxious hands busy and gives you the kind of dopamine hit that only a finished, handmade project can. See more on Instagram!

All workshops at CraftNation are offered at a sliding scale. For guidance on which price you should pay, please see our Sliding Scale page.
