Description: In this follow-up to our Intro to Chainmail workshop, students ready to take their chainmail skills to the next level will learn new weaves. Some of the weaves will incorporate using more than one aspect ratio or jump ring sizes; other weaves can make sheets for garments or jewelry.
Feel free to bring your favorite beverage to enjoy while crafting. We have glasses available, no need to bring disposables.
When: Friday, 8/28 6pm-9pm
Skills taught: You will learn more complex weaves, how to incorporate multiple aspect ratio/sizes, and how to make chainmail sheets.
Skills needed: Previously attending an introduction class or having similar experience is required. You should be able to create a piece of jewelry on your own using the classic chainmail weave.
Supplies used: All supplies will be provided by CraftNation and will include a pair of pliers and jump rings, both of which will be available for purchase after class if you’d like to continue your chainmail journey!
What you’ll leave with: Each student will leave with Chainmail jewelry or accessory of their own design
Meet your teacher: Nox Wulong (they/them) is a Philly based nonbinary artist, metalworker, sculptor, and jeweler. They create jewelry, accessories, armor, sculpture, tools and weapons from their fiery passion for metals and minerals, for fire and wire. You can find Nox on Instagram or their website.
